When I arrived in Rignano , Italy, the so-called migrants and farm labourers who lived in the Ghetto told me, “Don’t keep the pictures you take of our lives in these shanties. This misery is not yours to share.” The poverty in the Ghetto was the first thing I saw, and the first thing I wanted to show.
