Matlab Mukhtarov was born in 1988 in the city of Sumgayit. He studied film studies at the Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Arts. He worked on TV movies, TV series and commercials in Turkey for several years. Since 2015, he has been a director at various TV channels in Azerbaijan. “12/35” his first film. In addition to cinema, he is interested in literature, mythology and philosophy and publishes essays locally.
