FIPADOC
FESTIVAL OF
TRUE STORIES

Fipadoc, international documentary film festival, brings the public and professionals together for screenings of a selection of outstanding documentary films.

We believe in true stories. Stories from here and there, of laughter and tears, stories simple but extraordinary, brave and surprising. Stories that open our eyes to those around us, that change the world, that inspire and stay with us forever. We believe in documentary films.

Anne Georget, Chairwoman of Fipadoc

Held in January, in Biarritz, Fipadoc is the first event on the circuit of major international documentary festivals each year. Over eight days, it highlights, in different locations in Biarritz, documentary in all its forms through screenings, masterclasses, debates and conferences.

BIARRITZ IMMERSIVE

Biarritz Immersive is Fipadoc’s space dedicated to the digital documentary experience. The works presented offer members of the public a chance to discover forms of narration that use cutting-edge technology to tell true stories. Interactive documentaries, virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), web-documentary series, and content designed specifically for smartphones, tablets, or computers… A wealth of innovation is on offer to give audiences alternatives to movie theatres and television screens. Biarritz Immersive strives to be the ultimate showcase for the very best French and international productions, promoting documentary content that can be hard to access by other means.

Fipadoc Pro

Fipadoc Pro has established itself as the must-attend event for those, involved in documentary creation in France, but also on a European scale. A place where filmmakers and decision-makers from both film and audiovisual industries gather to discuss industry trends, meet new partners and work together to invent the films of tomorrow.

In 2025, Fipadoc Pro welcomed 2,627 accredited guests (including more than 250 experts, speakers and moderators) and offered 60+ sessions (including workshops, round tables, case studies, pitch sessions, conferences, meetings and special screenings). In 2026, Fipadoc will feature projects and professionals from Spain and Portugal, promising a dense and varied program.

CAMPUS

We believe that image appreciation and the discovery of documentary film through unique and emotionally powerful works are essential for creating interest and engaging the future generation. Campus is a unique opportunity for young people to gain exposure to the documentary genre, to spark dialogue through various works, and to meet creators from all over the world.
