The first major international documentary festival of the year, Fipadoc brings French and European documentary community together in Biarritz for Fipadoc Pro, from January 27 to 30, 2025.
A MUST-ATTEND EVENT FOR THE FRENCH INDUSTRY
Fipadoc Pro has become a must-attend event for French documentary professionals, offering a series of sessions that offer them the possibility to initiate new partnerships, develop their projects, expand their professional network, learn about developments in the profession and industry trends, meet up with key players in our sector, and discover new talents and new stories.
All the players involved in documentary creation on a national scale make this diversity possible:
◤ Authors and directors, thanks to the support of La Scam but also to the participation of Boucle documentaire or de la Garrd.
◤ Producers, represented by Procirep, SPI and Uspa.
◤ Broadcasters, through conferences designed to unveil their editorial lines: France Télévisions, Arte, Canal +, Histoire TV and Ushuaïa TV, LCP, Public Sénat and M6
◤ Institutional partners such as the Centre national du cinéma et de l'image animée (CNC), the Centre national de la musique (CNM) and our social partners (Afdas, Audiens and Thalie Santé).
In addition, a significant part of our programming is also devoted to regional players and issues, through numerous sessions involving our partners: the Nouvelle Aquitaine region, Alca, Peña (producers based in Nouvelle Aquitaine), Naais (association of authors based in Nouvelle Aquitaine), the Pyrénées Atlantiques department, Zukugailua, etc.
A PLATFORM WITH AN INTERNATIONAL DIMENSION
Over the years, Fipadoc Pro has also carved out a place for itself in the landscape of European documentary events. This dimension is made possible by :
◤ A growing number of international professionals, with 325 international accredited attendees (i.e. nearly 20% of our professional participants) and 49 nationalities represented in 2024.
◤ The rise of our co-production forum, reflected in a stronger presence of decision-makers, a growing number of applications and dynamic agreements with our partner forums (Docs Barcelona, Dok.Fest München, Copro, Lau Haizetara).
◤ A Focus that has become a trademark, enabling us to establish long-term links with professionals and institutions in the countries concerned.
◤ Our co-production meetings (Producers meet producers), which each year bring together some forty producers and enable us to extend the participants' professional networks in concrete terms.
Between project presentations, speeches by major players in the sector and organized meetings, our program is designed to meet the expectations of the various professions, as closely as possible to the challenges facing the industry:
◤ Numerous pitching sessions: our international pitches of course, but also DOC À LA PAGE, Premier film en Région / European first film pitch and Story Lab
◤ A project support workshop dedicated to Impact campaigns (the Impact Lab)
◤ Round tables, conferences and speeches by key industry players
◤ Masterclasses and meetings with today's and tomorrow's talents
◤ Festive and convivial events featuring festival partners
Open up and strengthen your local and international network, get together, welcome tomorrow's professionals. Fipadoc Pro is also an opportunity for informal exchanges in a conducive working environment that brought together nearly 2,431 accredited attendees in 2024, including:
◤ +420 producers
◤ +200 decision-makers (commissioning editors, distributors, international sales representatives, festival representatives) including +50 channel representatives
◤ +200 French and international experts and speakers
◤ +360 male and female directors
Finally, and as every year, the Focus highlights a European territory through a dedicated selection in the programming and a special place in the professional offerings.
In 2025, our Focus will spotlight the Balkan documentary industries through dedicated co-production sessions, a stronger presence at our pitching sessions, matchmaking activities and, above all, a genuine delegation of professionals from these 9 countries (Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia, Greece, Kosovo, Northern Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia and Slovenia): directors, producers, international sales representatives, TV channel representatives, film fund representatives and festival managers.
