At the age of 28, Faten is pushed by her family to marry a man she has not chosen. Convinced that this new life could bring her a long-awaited freedom, she finds herself all alone facing her own disillusionment. That is when she decides to return to her hometown in South Lebanon in search of a love she never received.

Nader Chalhoub is a Lebanese director and cinematographer born in 1994.
He studied cinema at the Saint Joseph University in Beirut and cinematography at La Fémis in Paris. Working for other directors, framing and shaping light encouraged him to co-direct in 2021 his short documentary « Love in Galilee » alongside his partner Layla Menhem.
The film premiered at the JCC Carthage and was selected in several festivals worldwide including FIPADOC and DocsBarcelona.
After this successful experience where he was able to make his passion for cinematography and directing meet, he is currently preparing « HELLFIRE » his first documentary feature film.
Layla MENHEM
Layla Menhem is a Lebanese writer and director born in 1994. She studied cinema at the Saint Joseph University in Beirut and completed a Master’s degree in writing and directing from the Paris 1 Panthéon Sorbonne. Her graduation short documentary "Accents" was broadcasted on France 3 in 2020. “Love in Galilee”, a short documentary she co-directed with Nader Chalhoub in 2021, was selected in many film festivals worldwide winning multiple awards including best short documentary at the Beirut International Women Film Festival.
Layla’s interest in societal themes and more specifically in women's stories is her primary creative drive. She is currently developing her first documentary feature film "Hellfire" alongside Nader Chalhoub.
