Bella ciao! This song has been bursting out wherever people have fought against injustice for decades. Some say it was the anthem of the Italian partisans fighting against fascism in WWII. For others, it's a folk song of the exploited workers in the rice fields of the Po plain. Stories, hypotheses, or archives explore the song's origins, which are ultimately less important than what it means: a call to freedom that resonates around the world.
