Jean-Luc Godard (1930-2022) is cinema, its quintessence. All along his career, he directed more than 140 films. This portrait wants to take us beyond the clichés of a myth that has sometimes become caricatural, to meet a man more sentimental than it seems, a man inhabited, sometimes surpassed, by his art.

Cyril Leuthy graduated from FEMIS in 2002. He then began a succesful career as a documentary editor such as Mark Kidel’s «Becoming Cary Grant» (2016). His first film, «La nuit s'achève» (The night is fading) won the prize for the most innovative first film at Visions du Réel - Nyon 2015. The film participates in many international festivals. He has since directed several documentaries, mainly large portraits of artists: «Melville le dernier samuuraï» 2019, «Rendez-vous with Maurice Cheval» 2021.
