Kristen van Schie is a director and editor from South Africa. Before her shift to film, she worked for ten years as an award-winning journalist, filing dispatches in both her home home country and across Africa. Born in Johannesburg and raised in Namibia and the United Arab Emirates, she cut her teeth in the trade at Johannesburg's oldest daily newspaper The Star before joining the southern Africa bureau of AFP. She has masters degree in creative documentary directing.
