The lands of South Sudan have witnessed unceasing violence, from Anglo-Egyptian colonial suppression through today's civil war. On behalf of the Red Cross, Dutch ex-soldier Albert engages South Sudanese soldiers in talks about the legal notion of war crimes and discusses how to avoid them.

Guido Hendrikx (1987) studied Liberal Arts & Sciences, after which he plunged into Film Studies, Philosophy and Journalism (Utrecht University), and subsequently followed the study Documentary Direction at the Dutch Film Academy.

His no-budget short film debut DAY IS DONE (2010) premiered at the International Documentary Festival Amsterdam (IDFA). His second short film ESCORT won 9 international awards and was longlisted for the Oscars. His graduation film Onder Ons (Among Us) was screened at international festivals for a long time and won more than 10 awards. His debut film STRANGER IN PARADISE was the opening film of IDFA 2016. The cinema release of the film took place in Italy, the UK, Belgium and the Netherlands. It was screened extensively (90+ international festivals) and distributed in 12 countries (China, Japan, United States, Turkey, etc). In 2017 STRANGER IN PARADISE was nominated for the European Film Awards: best documentary.

Guido Hendrikx wrote several screenplays (short, medium and long films) in collaboration with other directors (Ena Sendijarevic, Mees Peijnenburg) and worked as a curator for De Correspondent in the video department.
