The Land that Rises and Descends explores Finland’s forgotten backyard: the Kvarken Archipelago. Kvarken is a unique place on earth where the sea is the future land and the land was previously the sea. There myths as old as time form part of daily reality, and the rising and descending of the land poses questions about the archipelago’s future existence.
