Sebastian Molina Ruiz, born in Mexico City in 1995, studied Art History at Universidad Iberoamericana and Filmmaking at the CCC. He took part in renowned programs such as Talents Guadalajara in 2022, Berlinale Talents in 2025, and IDFA Academy in 2025. He also holds a master’s degree from the DocNomads program.
His documentary Las Hostilidades won awards at FICM and FICUNAM and was officially selected at IDFA and Hot Docs. His short film Mátalos a todos premiered at Locarno, MoMA’s New Directors/New Films, and Morelia. His most recent short, A Rosa Nasce Nas Pedras, won Best Short Film at Guadalajara and was featured at the Havana and Málaga film festivals. He is currently developing his second feature film, Antes de que nos olviden. A devoted fan of Tigres UANL.
