After graduating in Fine Arts from the Complutense University of Madrid, Marina returned to her native city to study Creative Arts at the Elías Querejeta Film School. It was there that she made Ya no duermo. Her short film premiered in the Zabaltegi-Tabakalera section of the San Sebastian International Film Festival and was screened at more than thirty national and international festivals, winning six awards. Ya no duermo is also part of Kimuak 2020, a selection promoted by the Department of Culture of the Basque Government, and is considered one of the best short films of the year by the magazine Caimán Cuadernos de Cine.
