DOC À LA PAGE : The world of documentary audiovisual adaptation!
This unique event showcases a selection of twelve non-fiction works, pitched by their publishers to a panel of audiovisual and film producers. The event offers publishers a privileged opportunity to meet documentary industry professionals, a space where real-life stories, both written and filmed, can dialogue and reinforce each other.
Book adaptations are more vivid than ever, as their growing number on our screens and the success of events such as “Shoot the book!” (Cannes) or the “Rencontres audiovisuelles de la Scelf” shows. The richness and diversity of French documentary (or non-fiction) literary production offers producers a wide range of options: journalistic investigations, historical narrations, biographies, graphic novels... All genres and formats are represented. However, some publishers struggle to promote their documentary works, while audiovisual producers are increasingly interested in this type of literature. Aiming to bridge the gap between these two worlds, Fipadoc has for the past seven years hosted a day dedicated to audiovisual adaptation of literary works during its Industry Days: Doc à la page !
DOC À LA PAGE is organised in partnership with la SCELF, du CNL, du BIEF, du CFC, de la Fondation Jan Michalski et de Zinema Zubiak.
