Max Kerkhoff, Austrian-German-American filmmaker and editor from Berlin—studied European ethnology & political science (MA) in Berlin and Marseille, before studying film editing (MFA) at the Film University Potsdam Babelsberg. Since 2007 he has worked on different projects as an editor, as well as directed and produced short films that have screened at numerous festivals and won awards. Also, he has been selected for several different project labs, grants and international programs, such as, IDFAcademy, European Social Documentary (ESoDoc) or the Robert Bosch “crossing borders” grant. While teaching workshops and shooting, he spent much time in DR Congo, Rwanda, Tunisia, Mali, Guinea, Burma, and other countries. Moving between these different cultures deepened his desire to make those patterns and aesthetics of globalization visible that are changing the world around us.
