Abortion, the Polish Paradox

Réalisation
Ada GRUDZINSKI

Poland is one of the countries with the most restrictive abortion legislation. This has not always been the case. In 1956, Communist Poland was one of the first countries in Europe to liberalize abortion. With the fall of communism, the growing influence of the Church in political life has led to the virtual disappearance of this right.

Ada GRUDZINSKI

Born in France to Polish parents, Ada Grudzinski began her career as an assistant director, notably for Agnieszka Holland and Noémie Lovski. Her passion for archives and her knowledge of the Polish language naturally led her to work regularly as a researcher for fiction films and documentaries such as "Histoire de l’antisémitisme" by Jonathan Hayoun or "Les marches de la mort" by Virginie Linhart.

"Abortion : the Polish paradox" is her first film.
