Vakıf, a 60-year-old Kurdish man who grew up in a nomadic tribe in the mountains of southeast Turkey, recalls moments from his youth. He takes us back to his idyllic childhood with his mother, his first love found in a cotton field and lost in the woods, and the mistreatment suffered at the hands of the police.

Aylin Gökmen is a Turkish-Swiss filmmaker with a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Lausanne and a Master's degree in Documentary Filmmaking from the Erasmus Mundus DocNomads program. Combining documentary and literary approaches, her work explores the themes of memory, imagination and landscape. She is co-founder of A Vol d'Oiseau, a production company dedicated to the development of various projects in Switzerland and abroad.
