Youssef YOUSSEF

Born in 1989, Youssef Youssef spent his youth between Cairo and Geneva. He studied HEC and Socio-economics at the University of Geneva, and fashion at Central Saint Martins in London where he lived and worked for 3 years. He continued his studies at the HEAD to realize his greatest dream, that of making films. In his films he likes to tackle the themes of sexuality, gender and identity.

Basil DA CUNHA

Swiss director of Portuguese origin, Basil Da Cunha was born in 1985. While studying political science and sociology, he directed several self-produced short films before co-founding Thera Production. In 2009 he started his film studies at Head Geneva. His last feature film, O Fim do Mundo, had its world premiere in Locarno and was selected for Busan, Milan and Sao Paulo. It won awards at Les Arcs and Valladolid before winning the Photography Prize at the Swiss Film Prize in 2020.

Milly MILJKOVIC

Milly Miljkovic (1991) was born in Lucerne and grew up in Ticino. After studying at the Academy of Architecture in Mendrisio, she specialised in animation and 3D image creation at the International School of Comics and Illustration in Turin. Since 2017, Milly has been working with RSI, Locarno Film Festival, SUPSI, The Guardian, Cinedokké, Amka Films, Central Production, etc. In 2020 she will direct her first short film "Timida Esistenza". Since 2021 she is a lecturer in Production Design at CISA Locarno and an examiner at CSIA Lugano for the Animation section. She is currently working on a short film in stop-motion (cut out) as writer and director.

Agnese LÀPOSI

Agnese Làposi was born in Lugano in 1995. She obtained her Bachelor's degree in film directing at ECAL in 2019. After a year working in the film industry in Switzerland, she will continue her studies in France at the Lussas Documentary School, where in 2021 she will finish her Master 2 in documentary creation. Her graduation film at ECAL, "Alma Nel Branco" (fiction) is nominated for the Swiss Film Awards in 2021 in the category of Best Diploma Film and is presented in several international festivals (Angers Premiers Plans, Palm Springs, Oberhausen, Solothurn, among others).

Maria KAUR BEDI

Maria Kaur Bedi is a director from Switzerland. After completing her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Zurich and a six-month training course in the United States, she continued to hone her craft by working with industry veterans such as Susan Batson, Judith Weston and Slawomir Idziak. Kaur Bedi has worked in Switzerland, Germany, Poland and the US. Her short films (Goodbye Boyfriend, Girl and Boy On The Rocks, Beatrix, Cafe Gilberte) have been shown at festivals around the world. Her feature-length television film Die Einzigen was broadcast in prime time in 2017 and 2019 on national television. Kaur Bedi focuses on telling women-centric stories.

Elisa GOMEZ ALVAREZ

Born in 1989 in Berlin and graduated from the University of the Arts in Berlin in the class of Professor Ai Weiwei in 2017, Elisa Gomez Alvarez is an artist, video maker and chief operator. She has been involved in different theatres and operas: 2015 Ballhaus Naunynstraße Berlin, 2016 Staatstheater Stuttgart, 2017-18 Theater Bremen, Schauspiel Frankfurt, 2022 Theater Bremen, Comédie de Genève. She is part of the animation studio La Baguette Magique, based in Berlin and Lausanne, working for clients like Arte, ZDF, ORF etc. In 2020 Elisa obtained her Master's degree in cinema (directing) at ECAL/HEAD (Ecole Cantonale d'Art de Lausanne). With her diploma film "Soraya Luna" she wins the Tënk Award at Visions du Réel in 2021.

Laura MORALES

Laura Morales is a director and cinematographer based in Zurich. After studying photography from 2008 to 2011 at the CEPV in Vevey, Laura Morales worked as a studio photographer for a few years before moving into film. She graduated from HEAD in Geneva with a Bachelor's degree in filmmaking in 2017, with honours. In 2015, she won the prize for the best Swiss revelation at the Locarno Film Festival for her film Les Monts s'embrasent. In 2022, Laura Morales received her Master's degree in cinematography from the ZHDK in Zurich.

Sean WIRZ

Sean Wirz (1988) is a director and commissioning filmmaker. His short films UNLEASH, YARA, AKASHA and LICHTER AUS!!! have been screened at numerous festivals around the world. UNLEASH, a short film about five foreigners, won the prize for best experimental film at Euroshorts 2020 in Poland. In addition to fiction and commercials, Sean creates works with a social focus. For many of his films, Sean also creates sound design and film music. He started out as a musician and composer. He also worked at the venerable Sound Design Studios AG, where he was on the board of directors. Sean studied in Australia, Zurich and New York, and was admitted to the Swiss Study Foundation in 2012.
