At the beginning of the 70's, old salt workers and young people joined together to oppose a project of bypass which would have signed the disappearance of the salt marshes. Together, they ended up gagnizing and moved on to create a cooperative model in order to preserve their work tool and the art of harvesting salt.

Sophie Averty is a documentary and short film editor, but she only takes on directing occasionally, waiting for some kind of necessity or urgency to tell her story. She says she is driven by the desire to share her encounters with people whose commitments touch her: people who fight for the weakest or for the common good.
Her previous films have been selected and awarded in numerous festivals (Mois du Doc, Cinéma du Réel,...)
