Mariem Hassan's songs recount the culture of the Sahraoui people and the struggle for the independence of Africa's last colony, Western Sahara.

BRAHIM B. ALI

Brahim B. Ali is a North African documentary film director and producer. Brahim B. Ali was born and raised in the Saharawi refugee camps in Tindouf, south western Algeria, where he first developed his passion for photojournalism and documentary film. A graduate of the British Film Institute’s Film Academy, his films tackle social issues, with an emphasis on conflict, press freedom and human rights. He has worked on various films in technical and creative roles.

Mohamedsalem WERAD

Mohamedsalem Werad is a documentary filmmaker and producer from Western Sahara. Born and raised in the Saharawi refugee camps in Algeria, he studied in Libya, returning to the Saharawi refugee camps to learn about photojournalism and documentary filmmaking. He has worked on documentary films tackling issues on colonialism, music, culture and human rights issues, namely press freedom and enforced disappearances in North Africa.

Anna Klara ÅHRÉN

Anna Klara Åhrén has been a member of the RåFILM filmmakers collective since 2005, producing a variety of documentaries, campaign films, and animations. In addition to her work as a filmmaker, she has developed film education programs and led international video workshops. With a strong foundation in video activism, she has explored alternative forms of presentation and distribution alongside more traditional approaches. Anna Klara Åhrén currently teaches documentary filmmaking at Ölands Folkhögskola.
