A car drives through the snow, its boot packed with sound equipment, and then stops in the middle of nowhere at some far-flung bar or community hall. We are in Finland, where karaoke is an institution. People of all ages and social backgrounds sing songs from days past, some funny, others painful.

Director Einari Paakkanen graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from the Turku University of Applied Scienes (Arts
Academy), and did his Master's degree in Documentary Directing in Barcelona. He was an alumni of Berlinale Talents in
2018. He has directed both fiction and documentary films. Besides being a film director, Einari is one of the best location
managers in Finland and a poet.
