Between 1941 and 1944, thousands of pleas from Jews or relatives of victims of persecution were sent to the Commissariat-General for Jewish Affairs and to Marshal Pétain. A stunning immersion in the Vichy period in France, through letters which are fragments of life and testimonies of shattered stories.

Jérôme Prieur is the author of some twenty essays and makes documentary films that explore history, archaeology, the arts and literature, including four series on the origins of Christianity. Since 2010, he has devoted himself to several films about the years 30-45 in Germany and the Occupation in France, including Vivre dans l'Allemagne en guerre (2020), awarded the prize for documentary work by the French Association of Film and Television Critics (2022).
