The Ungemach Experiment, a Eugenics History - L'Expérience Ungemach, une histoire de l'eugénisme

Réalisation
Vincent GAULLIER, Jean-Jacques LONNI

In Strasbourg, inaugurated in 1924, the French garden-city Ungemach welcomed only « healthy and fertile strain » couples. This eugenics experiment was a subject of fascination and lasted up until the late 1980s! The micro-history of the Ungemach village joins that of the wider history of eugenics, a pseudo science sill permeating debates on assisted reproduction techniques and on trans-humanism.
