Our Territory - Notre territoire

Mathieu Volpe (Rome, Italy, 1990) was raised by his Belgian mother and his Italian father in Bari, in the South of Italy. In 2009 he moved to Brussels to study film directing at the "Institut des arts de diffusion" in Louvain-la-Neuve. His graduation film, Il segreto del serpente (2014), has been selected by several international festivals such as Torino and Lussas. His second documentary short, Our Territory, about the lives of immigrants from the "Rignano Ghetto", a slum located in southern Italy, had its International premiere at Locarno film festival in 2019. This short continued its festival career with selections at Dok Leipzig and Fipadoc. He is currently completing the post-production of his first long documentary, "A love story", produced by Replica Films, and he is preparing the shooting of his first fiction short, “Eldorado”, produced by Velvet Films.
