Hadrien LA VAPEUR

For ten years he has been assisting Philippe Garrel, Hadrien La Vapeur turns to experimental film making. He pursues a photographic work in Brazil and lands by mistake in a possession ritual. This encounter with the spirits upsets his vision of the world and leads him to investigate the invisible. He travels to the Congo, where people live with disembodied beings on a daily basis, in order to immerse himself in this reality and make documentary films.

Corto VACLAV

An anthropologist trained at Nanterre, Corto Vaclav discovered the work of Jean Rouch and immediately became passionate about Africa and cinema. He works for the Comité du Film Ethnographique where he meets Hadrien La Vapeur, who is looking for a sound recordist to go and shoot in the Congo. Very quickly, the trip turns into an initiatory and protean exploration. The two partners then decided to found the multimedia collection Expédition Invisible in order to gather their different works.
