Uli Futschik is a 360 filmmaker and co-founder of Koncept VR, a NYC based 360/VR production company. She started out in academia pursuing and completing a Ph.D. in quantum physics. With the arrival of the latest VR wave, she decided to take a leap into a creative career. 2012 marked the founding of Freedom360, a company that designs and manufactures 360 cameras and hardware. In addition, Freedom360 was also one of the first companies to create 360/VR experiences. In 2015, Uli Futschik helped to spin-off Koncept VR to purely focus on 360 productions. Within the two companies, Uli Futschik was part of over 100 successful VR projects in varying capacities among them producer, editor, writer, director of photography, director and project manager.
The work led her to travel around the world to countries such as China, Kenya and Honduras where she enjoyed meeting exceptional people of all walks of life. While developing her own style of filming and editing, Uli Futschik gravitates towards creating VR documentaries. She looks for the human aspect of each story and frames the individual in the larger context.
Koncept VR experiences have received numerous awards over the years including Webbys, Shortys and MMM awards.
