Bulgarian-born Andrey Paounov is an acclaimed documentary film director. His films have regularly screened at major film festivals around the world and received numerous awards including the Silver Wolf at the International Documentary Film Festival in Amsterdam. He is a two-time Bulgarian Film Academy Award Winner, winning for Best Documentary and best director. His films have been co produced by Chanel 4 (UK), Arte (Germany), TV2 (Denmark), PBS and ITVS (USA) , YLE (Finland) , NRK (Norway), SVT (Sweden). He has also served as a Jury member on various film festivals and as programmer for the Sofia international Film Festival.
