INTERNATIONAL PITCHES SELECTION

2026 EDITION

THE BEATING HEART OF DEMOCRACY – NOT DEMOCRAZY

Welcome to two days with focus on one of the beating hearts of our democratic societies. Documentary. In so many ways, documentaries are an essential instrument and art form for keeping the blood of our democratic system flowing.
Without the questions, challenges and dilemmas that our documentaries raise, we risk losing some of the essential elements in our democratic systems: dialogues, debates and narratives that bridge the divide rather than confrontations and information bubbles.
Let us keep our democratic hearts beating.
Let us begin with the 24 projects selected for our Fipadoc International Pitches and the many meetings, conversations and dialogues with the 60+ decision makers present here in Biarritz.
This is our contribution to democracy, so we better can avoid a future of democrazy.
