Tom Ehrhardt (*1978 in East-Berlin) is a German filmmaker, producer and journalist. He began his career as a writer for the music program "Tracks" (arte TV) and a presenter of a morning show on Radio Fritz (rbb). In 2010 he finished his first film "Last Year in Summer". In 2014 he quit his radio career to concentrate on films. The first project after this was "The Forgotten Treasure" (2019) for which Ehrhardt won the „Gerd Ruge Stipendium“ (Film- und Medienstiftung NRW) and was selected for the Documentary Campus Master School 2017. It has been presented at international festivals such as "Art FIFA" in Montreal in 2020 and picked up by German broadcaster mdr. He also co-wrote, co-edited and co-produced the Brazilian documentary „ELETRONICA:MENTES“ (2020), which premiered at In-Edit Brazil and was in competition at IndieLisboa 2020. It is available on streaming throughout Latin America. His various projects have taken Ehrhardt to coffee farms in Ethiopia, the Brazilian rainforest and the shelf ice in Antarctica. He lives and works in Berlin und São Paulo.
