Blue is the result of a collaborative process with women who have experienced postpartum depression. The director organizes a cyanotype workshop for these mothers to create their own images that illustrate their condition: from their fears, dreams and experiences through the different shades of blue.

Violena Ampudia is a Cuban filmmaker born in 1993 and actress based in Lisbon. She graduated in performing arts, at the National School of Arts, Havana, Cuba, in 2012. In 2016 she completed her studies in audiovisual communication, specializing in film directing, at the Instituto Superior de Arte, ISA, Havana, Cuba. In 2020 she graduated in documentary film directing from the International Film and TV School of San Antonio de los Baños, Cuba (EICTV). In 2022 she did her master in documentary filmmaking at DocNomads - the two-year itinerant master program between Portugal - Hungary - Belgium. Her films explore interpersonal relationships, encounters and growth processes. Lately, she has been more focusing on collaborative and artisanal filmmaking processes. Her films have been selected in festivals such as Jihlava IDFF, Cinélatino Rencontres de Toulouse, Belo Horizonte IFF, Curta Kinoforum ISSF in São Paulo, Poitiers IFF and Doc Buenos Aires IDFF. She is currently part of the analog film collective Laboratório da Cave, based in Lisbon.
