Swiss filmmaker, born on 31 March 1970 in Neuchâtel. Graduated from the Cantonal School of Art (ECAL) in Lausanne in 1998. He has directed several short and medium-length fiction and documentary films since Dimanche (official selection Cannes Festival1999). Close collaborator of Jean-Luc Godard since 2002, editor, cinematographer, sound engineer, producer for Film socialisme, Les trois désastres (3D), Adieu au langage (3D), Le livre d'image. Nominated by the National Society of Film Critics (USA) in the category "best cinematographer 2014" for Adieu au langage. Also editor and producer of the last three films by Pippo Delbono. Since 2011, he has been experimenting with various film forms including Tricycle at the Grand Palais in Paris, La Scène révoltée, Breath of White, Suite(s) Lacustre(s) and Sentiments, signes, passions. In the autumn of 2020, he was awarded the "Prix du rayonnement" by the Fondation vaudoise pour la Culture. He is one of the four authors of the project Orae, experiencing the borders, for the Swiss contribution to the Venice Architecture Biennale 2021. He is preparing Le Lac, his first feature-length fiction-documentary film, which will be presented at the Atelier de la Cinéfondation of the Cannes Film Festival 2021.
