Marion Boé was born in Quimper in 1983. After attending all the town's video workshops in her teens, she left to study audiovisual studies in Valenciennes in 2003, with the firm intention of making documentaries. After her studies, she moved to Paris where she became an editor.
In 2008, she made her first documentary, La Cité des abeilles, co-produced by France 3 Ouest and shown at a number of festivals (Étonnants Voyageurs, Rencontres de Mellionnec, Festival de Douarnenez).
She moved back to Brittany in 2015, where she continued to edit documentaries (L'Odyssée d'Omar by Mamounata Nikièma, Symphonie Arctique by Laurie-Anne Courson, Diplomatie by Julien Bur) and returned to directing in 2018 with the short film Wendy, as part of the Portraits de Mellionnec workshop.
In 2020, she will begin work on her second documentary, Un pays de papier (A Land of Paper), which will be broadcast on TVR in 2024.
Through her films, Marion Boé likes to tell human and committed stories, collective and supportive adventures brought to life by touching personalities.
