Son of Ukrainian parents who fled the Chernobyl disaster, Stéphane Kikena completed his 3rd cycle of piano at the Conservatoire National de Gennevilliers before entering the IAD (Institut des Arts de Diffusion) in Belgium. There he studied cinema until 2022, at which point he joined La Fémis.
