Every day in the life of Fidel González begins and ends in the same place, the cemetery of San Antonio de los Baños, a small town in western Cuba. Since 1994, Fidel has been the only gravedigger in the town. So regardless of schedules or holidays, he must always be available to bury and exhume all the dead in his community.

María Salafranca has directed the documentary short films “Cimientos”, premiered at the Festival International du Film de Fribourg ; “Compañía”, winner of the best documentary short film at the Concordian Film Festival; “Negra Sombra”, winner of Best Documentary Short Film at Chicago International Film Festival; “Servicio Necrológico para Usted”, premiered at Visions du rèel 2024. She is a graduate of documentary directing at the EICTV in Cuba.
