Rebeka BIZUBOVÁ

Rebeka Bizubová has been passionate about capturing fleeting moments since an early age. Her work primarily explores the themes of family—its closeness, unity, as well as its challenges and complex relationships. She earned her bachelor’s degree at the Academy of Arts in Banská Bystrica, where she directed the documentary film “At the Beginning of the End” (2022). The film premiered at the Cinematik International Film Festival in Piešťany and won the main prize at the Pocity Festival, receiving recognition at several international festivals.

Rebeka completed her master’s degree at the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava under the mentorship of Jaroslav Vojtek. Her master’s film, “Confession” (2024), explores her personal trauma caused by sexual harassment, creating a deeply emotional and thought-provoking piece.

During her studies, Rebeka Bizubová worked in several art galleries, focusing on artist portraits. She also completed an internship at the studio of Katrín Inga Jónsdóttir Hjördísardóttir in Reykjavík, Iceland. Currently, she is working on her debut film and participating in a graduate internship at IS Production, an audiovisual, film, and commercial production company.

Her creative motto is: "It is better to see once than to hear a hundred times."
