He lives with four women at the same time, tailoring his story and even his personality traits for each one. A first-person investigation, with the help of a private detective, into a fraudster with a thousand imagined lives.

Sonia Kronlund, who has Lorraine roots through her mother and Swedish heritage through her father, is a graduate of the École Normale Supérieure and holds an aggregation in literature. She has worked on numerous screenplays, directed documentaries, and curated several television collections. After a brief time at Cahiers du Cinéma, she joined France Inter radio in 1995. Since 2002, she has been producing the daily documentary program Les Pieds sur Terre on France Culture. Following Nothingwood, which was featured in the 2017 Cannes Film Festival's Quinzaine des réalisateurs, L'homme aux mille visages marks her second feature film as a director.
