Guangdong is a security guard and his wife a concierge at a luxury hotel in China. They have given everything to the education of their only son, a student at the prestigious Beijing Academy of Music. While the young horn player goes abroad, his parents find themselves in a daily routine of simple joys linked to the news of their son in Estonia.

Lou DU PONTAVICE
After studying literature, philosophy and film, Lou joined INSAS in directing (2014). For five years, she directed both documentary and fiction shorts. Since 2019, she has been working as a screenwriter (Joachim Lafosse's Les Intranquilles) and as a director. Her previous short film won the Cinergie prize for Best Belgian Hope at the Millenium festival and was selected for several European festivals.

Victoire BONIN GRAIS
After studying art history and theory in Paris, Victoire joined the Insas in Brussels in Image. Since then, she has directed short documentaries and become a cinematographer: Les miennes by Samira El Mouzghibati (Vision du Réel), Rainbow Children by Maryam Bayani (DokLeipzig), Berlin Bytch Love by Heiko Aufdermauer (Dok Fest München). Shot between China and Estonia, Le Veilleur is her first feature-length documentary as a director.
