Jakob Michal lives in Berlin and currently studies directing at the Film University Babelsberg KONRAD WOLF. He grew up in a small village close to Hamburg and began his professional career as director and editor for advertising films. After studying history and politics at the Free University of Berlin, his interest shifted toward documentaries. In his most recent films, he explores themes of masculinity, illness and family relationships. "Tough Moves" is his debut project in his first year.
